The pressure to earn more, do more, have more, and even be more is incessant. The stress of two parents working while raising children can feel like it's defeating the purpose of even having a family. Instead of technology helping us work anywhere, any time, it's taken our civiliation sideways, so we're working everywhere all the time time. Consequently, we live in a distracted, dissociated, and disembodied culture. It can take days or even years to come down and back in to our organic biological rhythms. This assumes we were even raised in a home that noticed and honored our own distinct style, pace, and rhythm.
I have found this challenge, the challenge of feeling human in a hyper and noisy, stressful, demanding, and relentless enviornment, to be an issue common to many if not most people, couples, and families.
Sometimes you just need a space to hear yourself think, to allow yourself to be you, and therapy can be this space. An oasis. Keeping the practical realities of life in mind, I will work with you to emerge from the madness, allowing the values, goals, and relationships you hold most dear to heal, unfold, and form.
